A CHRISTMAS MUSICAL THAT AUDIENCES WILL LOVE YEAR AFTER YEAR.

The script was initially written as a screenplay, but quickly we realized after a staged reading to a paid full house at the Five Points Theatre in Barrie, people wanted to sing along and dance in the aisles to Jason McCoy's toe tapping, heart felt songs. It was rewritten as a musical for the stage.

The music and lyrics for THE CHRISTMAS NOTE are by Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame musician Jason McCoy, and include co-written songs with some of country music's most prolific song writers and will also include new songs written specifically for the musical. The Book by Michael Whyte and Leah Holder, is a heartwarming romantic comedy about pursuing your dreams, staying true to yourself, and how an unexpected romance can complicate it all.

This 100% Canadian created musical is woven through the great songs from McCoy's catalogue.

The Story In a Nutshell

Determined to make it in the music business, a young musician finds her budding romance just became complicated and her dreams put on hold as she tries to save her family's land from her new beau's conniving business mogul aunt.

Leah Holder is a Toronto-based actor, director/ dramaturg, and playwright. In whichever field, she predominantly works in the creation of new work. She is the playwright of the sold out production MARY OF SHANTY BAY and was the Company Dramaturg of Theatre by the Bay from 2020-2024. Leah is a graduate of George Brown College, proud member of the Playwrights Guild of Canada and is from New Brunswick.
